2 deaths, even as Cyclospora slows

Michigan reported the first two deaths linked to the multi-state iceberg lettuce-related outbreak, though test positivity rate is tanking nationwide, indicating that cases have slowed. Shredded iceberg lettuce from Mexico, supplied by Taylor Farms to Taco Bell (and possibly other vendors), is the likely culprit in the outbreak in MI, OH, IN, KY, and WV. Meanwhile, terrible air quality from wildfires is affecting the Midwest and Northeast.

Cyclospora linked to leafy greens 🥬

MI has over 3,300 cases, with 669 new yesterday - and they’re zeroing in on lettuce and salad greens as a potential culprit in the massive outbreak.
